It’s always too easy to neglect your inflight skincare routine on a long haul flight. Especially so if you choose the window seat, like beauty blogger Thi Thi Nteta, and hate squeezing past your seat neighbours to pop into the washroom.
But you don’t have to risk it all and abandon your skincare routine. Thi Thi, a seasoned window seat traveler, has three simple steps for you.
1. Have makeup removers on hand
Instead of trying to wash your face in the tiny plane toilet, use cleansing wipes. Choose thick, super hydrated ones, so you don’t have to use a whole bunch of them to remove makeup.
2. Pack light with a versatile serum
Your carry-on kit shouldn’t be made up of all your travel skin and beauty products. I like to pack a serum simply because it’s a good way to moisturize while delivering powerful active ingredients to skin. Choose one that can be used for day and night. I like a rich, velvety serum which can lock in moisture, while delivering radiant, even-toned skin. Try one with retinol boosters, active anti-aging ingredients to hydrate and prevent fine lines and wrinkles.
3. Keep BB cream handy
You never know who you are going to run into at the customs line when you get off the plane. For this reason, I like to make sure that I have BB cream in my bag. It provides natural coverage, which makes it perfect for a light, fresh-looking base when you get off the plane. Choose one with good active ingredients which help to fade dark spots and with SPF30 to provide protection from UVA and UVB rays. After that, whip on some mascara and natural looking gloss or lip balm and you’ll be ready to run into anyone… even a future “bae” in the customs line.
